"A slow world" installation
From June 17 to 19 2011 Festival de la Terre in Lausanne - Esplanade Montbenon
A big spiderweb like sculpture that invited every willing festival's visitors to make it visible that we all are a part of the whole; we are connected and have the power to make the difference.
The proposal is that the visitors walk into the installation and make a commitment about the theme slow (theme of the Festival de la Terre 2011). The commitment the individual makes can be very simple, such as eating locally when it is possible, making compost, sorting waste, walking instead of driving for a short distance, taking time for family or whatever feels right to the individual, living with their convictions as a possible step to live "slow". Each person will write it down their contribution n a coloured paper, roll it onto a string and connect the string in the web.
This is a new kind of project, where the emphasis is more on participative (participation of visitors) than collaborative (collaboration with other artists).
