Opening-Ripple-effect-paducah-ky-2008-cIn today's world of sophisticated high-tech communication, our ability and indeed our opportunity to communicate directly with people is diminishing day by day. As a result, we are becoming afraid of meeting each other on a one-to-one level, which is the only place we have for nourishing ourselves through meaningful, authentic relationships.

Human beings need to meet and touch each other - literally and figuratively - that is to say both physically and emotionally.

The more 'civilized' and 'developed' society becomes, the less we are able to meet each other on a real level. As a contrast, many people in so-called 'underdeveloped' societies are still able to meet with each other on a rich and spontaneous level.

To highlight the fundamental question of meeting and the human connection, Linkart is bringing together painters, sculptors, poets, actors and musicians to create an event that we could also call a collective piece of art.

The idea is that artists respond to the work of art of other artists, where the works themselves even touch each other or are linked together in symbolic communication.

Each artist creates one piece which then becomes a part of the whole - the exhibition. The public is invited to join in or even contribute in the creation, thus becoming linked together with the artists and their works.
